Pool time!

This Labor Day Weekend we are spending quality time in Palm Springs. It's very warm (105 degrees today), making the perfect pool weather. My puppy is also pool-proof with a doggy life vest. I hope everyone's Labor Day weekend is relaxing!

The Desert

This past weekend we did some R&R in Palm Springs. I love the desert! The heat, pool and sunshine make the perfect combo for a lazy weekend. Who doesn't love laying in a pool lounge floating chair?! On the way back taking the 111, you approach Whitewater river (I think that's what it's called). It's an ice blue river in the middle of the desert and it's phenomenal.

Longer days

It's always so strange coming back to my blog when I haven't written in like a month or so. But I figure it's time for a little update.

Back in June, I headed to Vegas with the boyfriend and friends to celebrate our friends going away party. You see he's super smart and will be going to grad school to get his Ph.D in Marketing in Georgia. A few weeks later the parents visited and we did SD tourist thing. Now in the next two weeks, I'll be hitting up LA, Laguna Beach and Palm Springs and I'm stoked!

While in Vegas, we stayed at ARIA and I learned how to play craps. Oh man that casino game is highly addicting. One of the days we just laid by the pool for 4 hours and it was amazing!! The ARIA pool is beautiful, the pool bar even better. I bought a 32oz filled with Rum & Coke for only $20! Total win. We kept the cups too! Our dining adventure included The Buffet at ARIA, Holstien's in Cosmo and Todd English P.U.B.

When my parents and family were in town, we visited the shopping outlet near the U.S./Mexico border, we visited the Coronado Island, ate at the best breakfast in SD, The Old TownHouse and we visited one of my resorts! So thankful to see my family.

Snow Day

The ongoing winter storm of San Diego came back with a vengeance this past weekend! My bf, puppy and our friends decided to face the storm and head east up to Mt. Laguna Recreation Center. About 1 1/2 of fresh powder fell at the mountain! I haven't seen snow in 3 years (well overdue!) Definitely a nice, brief change from the San Diego. Seriously though everyone deserves a snow day.

Bienvenido a Miami

Spring Break, the vacation that lets you know summer is almost here. I never formally took a Spring Break vacation, I usually went home to visit the family. Friends of mine were going to your typical locations: Miami, Cancun, Cabo San Lucas etc. A did a little research to check out the best spots to vacay for Spring Break. My favorite? Miami.

Fontainebleau Miami Beach
A prime celebrity hot spot; Kanye West, Katy Perry, Miranda Kerr and even President Barack Obama have been seen here. Fontainebleau is a beautiful oceanfront resort with 1,504 rooms, 11 restaurants and lounges, shopping, and Lapis Spa; certainly enough to keep you busy during your stay! And pets are more than welcomed, I love that.

Mondrian South Beach
Another luxorious South Beach hotel that is a must stay! A little smaller than Fontainebleau (357 Rooms); Mondrian South Beach is a quiet setting for those who want to escape the Spring Break craziness. A retro flair interior that makes this hotel not too relaxed, but playful as well! Check it!

A perfect Single & Mingle package for Spring Break is their Be Social Package; which includes two drinks per day and priority access to all their restaurants and bars. Book it.

The Raleigh

LOVE the architecture here, definite Miami Art Deco. The Raleigh may be small, (105 rooms), but it's absolutely glamorous. I really can't get enough of their pool. Something I could consider Miami's hidden little gem.

CHI-TOWN

Who doesn't love free Wi-Fi? So here I am updating my blog from beautiful Chicago! The incoming flight was a little unnerving, since the weather predicted thunderstorms. :/ Why am I here? My little brother, Jei (pronounced JAY) graduated Navy Boot Camp this past Friday and my parents, boyfriend and myself were his guests to the ceremony. I haven't seen him since Spring Break back at the end of March. He changed a lot, but for the good! He's slimmed down and happy to be out of Boot Camp :)

Now that he's out and on Liberty we decided to do some Chicago sightseeing. I love the city, any city, but Chicago was different than any other City I have been too. I felt like I was walking on a movie set. I FORGOT my camera, but I used my folks and they own Sony which has their own special memory card, instead of the SD memory card. So I am unable to upload my own pictures :/, but I found this GREAT Chicago images reference Flickr, wallyg Flickr. I will be using these wonderful photos instead.

1.) Gino's Pizza, "the only place to get deep dish pizza in Chicago"
We had the Meaty Legend Deep Dish and it was delicious! Funny thing is the only reason we knew about this place is because Adam from Man vs. Food ate there. haha

2.) Navy Pier, Chicago's lakefront playground
It was crazy to think the pier lead into one of the Great Lakes, Lake Michigan. It looked like the west coast, if you face out to the lake and turn around the Chicago Skyline is right behind you, that was my favorite part. It was HOT and HUMID.

3.) Gurnee Mills Mall, located between Milwaukee and Chicago there with over 200 stores
Just a typical shopping center, but this place was HUGE! It had a bunch of restaurant surrounding the outside. This is where we took my little brother to see Toy Story 3.

Chicago, the windy city, wasn't windy at all. Mostly rain, lighting storms, heat and humidity. I wish we stayed a little longer to do some sightseeing. I wouldn't mind coming back here to visit.
