Victorian Inspired Jewelry

Etsy is pretty great. You can sell your clothing, jewelry, or homemade-craft on their website! While On Etsy.com, I discovered this awesome jewelry designer, Mama's Little Babies. She designs handmade jewelry inspired by Victorian illustrations. Some of the pieces are eerie, I wouldn't want them facing me while I'm sleeping. You can pick out necklaces, brooches, bracelets, earrings and more! Below are some of images of Mama's Little Babies. Some of those necklaces are on my Holiday Wishlist.

Hospitality Industry

I completed my first week at my new job doing marketing for a great hospitality company! In many ways fashion and hospitality are the same. They provide great services to consumers. They have their own sense of style and some are more unique than others. I went to school for fashion marketing, the focus may be in fashion, but the principles are the same. Marketing can be applied to any industry, as long as you're passionate about it.

The plus of hospitality you get to work with many different people and be a part of other industries that the company is associated with. Such as Food & Beverage, for example, getting to see what it takes to run a 4-5 star restaurant. Another great one is Spa, like figuring out how to make that perfect relaxing site for your guests. One last plus (for me) is to get a feel for the Golf Industry. In my interview I was asked do you play golf? I was honest and said, "I have never played a game of golf, unless miniature golf counts."

Working in the hospitality industry, I have taken it upon myself to check out some competitors, to do a competitive analysis in the surrounding area. ;)

1. La Costa Resort and Spa
2100 Costa Del Mar Road
Carlsbad, CA‎ 92009
(760) 438-9111‎

Just south of Carlsbad, about 30 mins north of San Diego is La Costa. The setting is true Southern California with a hint of Spanish Architecture. There is a lot to enjoy at this resort: spa, golf, tennis, pools, dining and you can even bring the kids here! Lush greens surround the property providing an escape from the hustle of the city of San Diego.

2. JW Marriott, Desert Springs
74-855 Country Club Drive
Palm Desert, CA 92260
(760) 341-2211

Probably THE best resort in the heart of the Palm Springs Desert area, oddly enough it's not located in Palm Springs, but in it's neighboring city, Palm Desert. This resort sits on 450 acres, a complete oasis from the surrounding desert areas. You can find lagoons, lush green landscape and even some nightlife. The lobby is incredible spacious as the property itself. I didn't know this, but the lobby has a gondala to take you to the restaurant on the other side.

3. Surf & Sand Resort
1555 South Coast Highway
Laguna Beach, California 92651
(949) 497-4477

Yes this one may be a little bias, but it is 1 in 5 hotel properties in the state of California that are located directly on the beach. There is beachside restaurant and bar called Splashes and Splashes Bar, respectively. The restaurant is situated 25ft away from beach! Aquaterra Spa combines healing properties of the ocean and earth to provide the most wonderful therapeutic treatments. There is a great wedding and events team, that can help plan your dream seaside wedding here at Surf & Sand! Overall the staff is welcoming and friendly!

Black and White

It's the first official week of my new job, so I haven't had a chance to update my blog :( This is a short and sweet post featuring black and white photos I find inspirational. There is this simplicity in black and white photos that I love. My favorite black and white photos aren't necessarily fashion (it's a plus), but I do enjoy scenic photography as well! The scenic photos in black and white portray a tranquil location or lonely affair depending on how you interpret it. Either way these photos are stunning.

Editorial Sunday

Seriously this is probably my favorite editorial of ALL TIME. Supermodels Enter Rehab from the July 2007 Vogue Italia issue. Even models make going to rehab look cool! It's a lengthy editorial, but it's gorgeous! It's like the 10 best models collectively decided to go to rehab together. Words simply cannot explain how much I love this editorial.
