For Product Development I was paired up with another Fashion Marketing and Management student, Amy and a Fashion Design Student, Jeremy. The objective of the class is that our team took products from concept to marketplace, researched materials and analyzed trends for the development of private label merchandise. Prototypes are developed, and manufacturing and budgetary issues are analyzed. Accounts and interfacing with advertising agencies will also be covered.
The brand that we decided to create our project for was ZZegna, an Italian Mens luxury apparel designer. The concept was to create their first Womens RTW called, ZZegna donna. Jeremy did the concepts and designed the clothing, while Amy and I marketed the apparel accordingly. We had 6 prototypes: Mini Dress with Bishop Sleeves, Deep Neck Tee, Banded Bottom Tank, Sleeveless Night Shirt, Twin Front Slit Pencil Skirt, and High Waisted Pant.
A major component of our marketing strategy was to create editorials to be featured in major fashion magazine across the world. The prototypes that are in the editorial are the dress, banded tank, and skirt. Below I have full editorial and descriptions that we used for the project.
